British artist George Rouy presents an ambitious solo exhibition of new large-scale paintings across two floors of the Hannah Barry Gallery. Speaking to vexed subjects of desire, alienation, freedom and crisis, 'BODY SUIT' continues Rouy’s longstanding treatment of the human form expressed as rhapsodic portraits of identity in a globalised and technologically-driven 21st century. Focused on the relationship between interior landscapes and the body in motion, transformation and flux, 'BODY SUIT' brings to sharp focus recurring themes in Rouy’s work such as the face as a mask, the individual as a mirror, the self as a shadow.
