Yamamoto Keiko Rochaix

Yamamoto Keiko Rochaix is a contemporary art gallery in Spitalfields, East London, where it opened its door early 2017. It strives to introduce emerging and mid-career artists from the UK and across the globe whose works are inspired by themes of light, space, sound, and ambiguity of identity, and each exhibition is a fruit of deeply involved cooperative process between the artists and the gallery, to offer the audience opportunity to experience the artists’ coherent universe. We have strong ties with artists from various national and cultural background, including Asian, African and minority groups within Europe. Such roster of artists may be a reflection of the director, a Japanese transplant in London, and her personal empathy for work that embodies the sense of marginal and new perspective for life and society in general. This philosophy naturally has lead to the emphasis the gallery places upon producing exhibitions that further cross-cultural dialogue and inclusion.
