Contemporary gallery showing emerging and established international artists

Josh Lilley opened in Fitzrovia in May 2009. In 2020, after 90 exhibitions, the gallery expanded into adjoining premises to double the exhibition space, viewing rooms and street facade. Over the past 12 years the gallery has mounted important introductory exhibitions for international artists such as Derek Fordjour, Kathleen Ryan, Analia Saban, Aliza Nisenbaum, Brian Bress and Alex Da Corte, alongside longterm support of British artists at the forefront of contemporary discourse including Nick Goss, Vicky Wright, Ryan Mosley, Nicholas Hatfull and Ryan Mosley.

    Martine Gutierrez: Passing

    04 June - 10 July 2021
Josh Lilley is pleased to present Passing, the debut solo show in the UK for American artist Martine Gutierrez (b. 1989, Berkeley, CA). Gutierrez creates photographic self-portraiture of exquisite sheen and dancing textures, deceptively familiar images of glamour and fantasy that serve as a vessel — like the artist herself — for the discussion of gender, race, class and indigeneity.
