The itinerary begins with a visit to the the first London retrospective of work by Richard Hunt, one of the foremost American sculptors of the 20th and 21st centuries, at White Cube Bermondsey.
After a short walk, we pop by Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery to journey through distant terrains with Martine Poppe’s works blurring the natural world and fairy tales.
Our next stop is at Cecilia Brunson Projects where the shapes and forms of David Batchelor come into dialogue with Latin American Concretism through works by José Pedro Costigliolo and Judith Lauand. Here, we can also discover works by Claudia Alarcón & Silät, a collective of over one hundred women weavers from the indigenous Wichí communities of northern Salta, Argentina.
From here, if you’re up for a longer 20-minute walk, we’ll catch a solo presentation at Copperfield of works by Shiraz Bayjoo, whos practice delves into the history and impact of colonialism on his native Mauritius and the wider Indian Ocean region.
