    Joseph Yaeger: Doublespeak

An artist attuned to the vagaries of contemporary cultural memory, Joseph Yaeger’s practice may be summarized as a parallel investigation in the fetishization of images in contemporary libidinal economies, and in painting’s contemporaneous agency in the transformation and circulation of the visible. The images that form the basis of his work appear at first glance immediately recognizable, a shared intimacy, and equally untraceable, an uncanny déjà vu. For Yaeger’s first solo exhibition at Project Native Informant, he will present a new body of paintings he has been working on over the last year.
