In the best case, art triggers something in you and leads you on paths you would not necessarily have taken before.

KÖNIG GALERIE was founded in Berlin by Johann König in 2002, and currently represents 40 international emerging and established artists, mostly belonging to a younger generation. The program’s focus is on interdisciplinary, concept-oriented and space-based approaches in a variety of media including sculpture, video, sound, painting, printmaking, photography and performance.

    Tue Greenfort has long been concerned with the relationship between humans and their environment and with the hierarchical systems to which they subject nature. This is particularly evident when dealing with what we disparagingly call 'weeds'; plants that are considered a nuisance or even harmful. Often, every effort is made to eradicate them before they overgrow the landscape. The complex history behind these plants inspired Tue Greenfort to dedicate several series of works to invasive species, combined in this exhibition. Five hexagonal ceramic tiles imprinted with floral patterns and glazed in different colors were commissioned as a site-specific work for Rochester Square in London and were on view in the garden there in April 2021. Greenfort searched for invasive species native to the site and created the reliefs at the local ceramics workshop. The exhibition is complemented by a series of cyanotype prints.
